Ōtaki Firemain Upgrade

Client: Kāpiti Coast District Council.

Location: Ōtaki.

Scope of works: The works involved installing 2400m of watermain including associated fittings, connections and disconnections from the existing network within the road corridor.

Stats: 260m of 63OD PE ridermain, 90m of 150mm mPVC watermain, 1750m of 200mm mPVC watermain, and 230m of 300mm DICL watermain.

Challenges: The challenges presented by this project included managing the public response to long-term works. The project required extensive traffic management expertise due to its location, with multiple network outages needing strategic handling.

Solutions: Throughout the project, we proactively problem-solved and collaborated with the engineer, client representative, and water retic team to overcome challenges and find effective solutions to minimise delays. This resulted in timely project completion and client satisfaction.
