Client: Scots College.
Location: Strathmore Park, Wellington.
Scope of works: Upgrade of existing live public stormwater network running underneath a proposed new building.
Stats: Installation of 3 new manholes and 37m of 750 concrete pipe at 4+ metres deep.
Challenges: Existing live stormwater network, location of existing mains, existing buildings and restrictive work area. Existing ground water level.
Solutions: Programmed works around rainfall to completed cut-ins during low flows, and diverted water past new line via temporary works. Completed early investigation work to ensure alignment of existing main was known prior to starting works. Utilised trench shields and smaller equipment to reduce required footprint of the works.
